Sat March 11th Spittoon Boat Races @ Noon and The Hipsters @ 9pm
We would like to invite you and your team members and friends to participate in the THIRTY THIRD Annual Indoor Running Water Spittoon Boat Races and Regatta. THE ONLY RACE OF ITS KIND IN THE WORLD! This high-class event will take place at the 134-year-old “Brick Saloon” in Roslyn, WA on Saturday March 11th in our 23-foot running water spittoon racecourse.
The Brick will open at 10am, Weigh-in and registration will begin at 10am, and the races begin at 12pm. (Please note that the races start at noon)
Bring your dancing shoes and join us for “The Brick Nautical Ball” with live music by The Hipsters at 9pm. You don’t want to miss this one!!
Classes and Specifications
- Soap/Wax boats, cannot weigh more than 1 oz.
- Wood boats, cannot weigh more than 1 oz.
- Paper/Plastic boats, cannot weigh more than 1 oz.
- Motor & Experimental Boats (Open Boat Class), cannot weigh more than 1 1/2 oz.
All boats may be waterproofed, but cannot exceed 3” long, 1 1/2” wide, and 3” tall. There are no mechanical or other means or propulsion allowed, except in the Experimental (Open Boat) class.
There is a $10 entry fee per boat for the Soap/Wax/Paper/Plastic/ and Experimental/Open Boat class. All races (Except Wood) are run on a double elimination format.
***There is a $5 entry fee per boat for the Wood Class. The Wood class races will run on a single elimination format, until we get down to the final 4. The final 4 will run double elimination. ****
